Though I am not a diehard fan of Salman Khan, I’ve always liked him as an actor until today when I
watched Koffee with Karan. He was straight , upfront and plainly amazing. We somehow tend to forget
that even the stars are human beings. I really liked the moment when he talked about the privacy of
celebrities and how people, in fact educated people tend to violate it all the times. I know there are a lot
of people who like Salman for who he really is, there are people from his fraternity and even his fan and
I did not understand the hows and whys of it. Those who are still in doubt of his appeal please watch the
episode. If you are a normal person probably there aren’t a lot people who know you and hence if you
commit any error there are millions of chances you can be saved but the scenario is quite different if you
are a star. Also to confront your sins in front of your fans, it does take a great deal of substance.
The whole episode was full of such amazingly pleasant moments. Another best of the moments was
when he talked about his past relationships. Now I am not being biased but there are literally hundreds
of men who boast of sleeping with women as it tend to boost their egos but I really loved the fact that
Salman talked about it so modestly keeping in mind that the women he (might have) dated have their
families to care of and was concerned about their lives as well.
As a true modest man he talked about all the actors in the industry and was all praise for them. He
picked up such characteristics of every actor that he had to sound honest. He admitted he was one of
the least hard working of them and that actors like Akshay Kumar have actually grown up over the years
unlike himself. Irrespective of all the rumors of his animosity with Shahrukh he clarified considering all
the wonderful moments they have spent together that no matter what he will always have respect for
Shahrukh and doesn’t like anyone talking negative about him.
So, of course we cannot forget all the his past wrongs and forgive everything but believing that he is also
a human being and like all of us entitled to commit errors (or crimes as in some cases) there surely is a
lot to learn from this celebrity and may we appreciate this kind of honesty and humility and try to
inculcate in our lives.
