Parents are role models for their children and greatly influence their character development. Children learn more from observing their parents' behaviors than from what they are explicitly told. It is important for parents to practice what they preach by controlling their own tempers, being honest, respecting others, and giving their full attention to their children rather than rationalizing mistakes or being distracted by other tasks when children seek their guidance. Letting children develop at their own pace while maintaining their trust and confidence in their parents allows them to feel secure in themselves.
