Scene 138 –Lot’s of Air Man! The Broker
I’m directing an actor to point to the other boat in the racing scene and
prepare the cast to get ready to throttle up as the driver of the boat is
preparing to engage. Below, Director R. Lewis Jr. shows his approval after
catching Lot’s of Air Man! and nails the action scene.
Scene 26
On the set with R. Lewis Jr. as he directs an actor during scene 26,
from ‘The Broker.’
Director R. Lewis Jr. goes over scene 13 with an actor during filming of ‘The Broker.’
The Broker – Scene 121 – Directed by: R. Lewis Jr.
The Broker – Scene 54 – Directed by R. Lewis Jr.
Scene 54 is shot on location in 360 degree video format. The scene shows the buying
process of a boat under contract. The actors are directed to negotiate the sale of a boat
after a brief sea trial but sense engine trouble. The buyer is directed to ask questions to
the seller, and the sell does not have the answers for his own boat. The broker played by R.
Lewis Jr. jumps in to save the day!
The Broker – Scene 13 - Directed & Starring R. Lewis Jr.
This underwater scene was filmed on the fly. I had limited time to shoot the scene
and the water was very murky. Word of juvenile bull sharks in the water had us all a
bit on edge and then I cut my leg and blood spilled into the water creating a little
stress for the crew.
The Broker – Scene 33: The Engine Room
The Broker – Scene 4 – Ghost Ship: Directed by R. Lewis Jr.
The script I wrote called for a moored yacht that was in poor condition and resembled
a pirate ship, or a ghost ship. After scouting locations for a few weeks, I stumbled upon
this vessel. I immediately got in touch with Captain K. and we negotiated our way onto
the vessel which included rowing our way on board.
Scene 16: The Sea Trial
During the course I emphasize the
importance of getting on board a
seller’s boat before you list the boat
for sale.
A strategy used was called wet foot,
dry foot, and is an all or nothing sales
pitch.
Scene 16 puts our actor on board a
vessel, working with Captain J. the
seller and they head out to sea.
There is an immediate friendship
that ensues and the broker gets full
disclosure and a central listing
agreement.
Scene 86: Burger Bloopers
Our actor wants to be the star of the
show. He puts himself into scenes
where he is not supposed to be and is
directed to stay off camera until cued
to appear.
The actor is pictured in this scene
while the cameras are rolling and
disregards his cues.
The drawers do not open, things fall
apart, and the crew was in tears
watching him manipulate the scene so
we let him have at it.
This is scene 86 of ‘The Broker.’
