Texas' current U.S. Senators are Senator John Cornyn and Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. We have a total of 32 representatives, one for each district.
Senator John Cornyn First elected in 2002 for six years. He was re-elected in 2008 for another six year term. Total time will be 2002-2014. Was born in Houston, Texas, but raised in San Antonio.  In 2007, his years of hard work yielded the OPEN Government Act. The legislation expanded transparency by closing loopholes in the FOIA, helping requestors obtain timely responses and ensuring agencies have strong incentives to act on requests.
Additional info about Sen. Cornyn: He wrestled while attending high school in Japan and threw the discus and shot put   for the track and field team. He owns several firearms and hunt as often as he can. And, his favorite color is  blue!
Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison: Elected in 1993 and re-elected in both 2000 and 2006. She is serving her 3 rd  term. She was born in Galveston, Texas but was raised in La Marque.
Also about Sen. Hutchison  First and, to date, the only -- woman elected to represent the state in the Senate. In 2001, she was named one of the thirty most powerful women in America by  Ladies Home Journal.
