This document discusses different types of client authentication systems, including single-factor authentication which requires a username and password, and two-factor authentication which requires additional information beyond just a username and password. Some advantages of single-factor authentication are that it is simple to use, straightforward, and not costly. However, it is not very secure since it depends solely on the strength of the password. Two-factor authentication provides better security than single-factor authentication by requiring multiple pieces of authenticating information.
