The Nene goose is an endangered species native to the Hawaiian Islands. It has weak wings and can only fly when necessary. The species is threatened due to overhunting as well as predators like cats, dogs, and mongooses introduced to the islands. Most respondents believed the Nene population could increase through volunteering efforts and educating others about the species.
