The project is derived from Italian Tuscany. Tuscany Italy was inhabited by the Etruscans. The
Etruscans were a peculiar civilization, among them were traders, fisherman and artists which
established their homes in coastal areas. They were very gifted in production of jewellery, silver in
particular and in the use of copper and bronze. If you really concentrate on the written history you
will notice that the Etruscans settled on land that was a forest in nature, farming land, coastal and
very rocky. Even though the characteristics of the land they settled on was very hard to establish,
they did and built caves and houses made out of stone.
In 400BC the Etruscan civilization merged with the Roman Empire and the Romans started to learn
all of the skills and experiences of the Etruscans like ceramic works, pottery, construction, jewellery
production, stone works etc... After being influenced by the Etruscans, the Roman Empire thrived,
however internal wars and disagreements occurred between the Romans and the Etruscans which
were part of the Elite. The Romans then killed most of the Etruscans and some of them fled and
some stayed.
When the Romans conquered Etruria they established Tuscana and they called their areas as we
called our villas depending on the characteristics of the area. Sienna Italy is known for its arts and
treasures, Lucca Italy is known for its thinkers and philosophers, Arezzo is known for its Roman
pottery and Parma is known for its fresh produce.
