This document defines and provides examples of renewable and nonrenewable natural resources. Renewable resources such as oxygen, freshwater, solar energy, timber and biomass can be naturally replenished, while nonrenewable resources like earth minerals, metal ores, nuclear fuels and fossil fuels like coal, petroleum and natural gas exist in limited quantities and cannot be naturally replaced once depleted.
