This document defines and describes key terms related to LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) identities. It discusses discrimination faced by LGBT people in the Philippines and provides examples of prominent LGBT individuals who have helped advance acceptance and rights. The document advocates for acceptance, equality, and love for the LGBT community.
The 1824 US presidential election saw the end of the "era of good feelings" as candidates represented different sections and interests rather than just political parties. Andrew Jackson received the most electoral votes but not a majority, so the election was decided by the House of Representatives, as stipulated by the 12th Amendment. Henry Clay used his influence as Speaker of the House to sway the vote to John Quincy Adams. Adams then appointed Clay as Secretary of State, fueling charges of a "corrupt bargain" between the two.
This document summarizes information about numerous LGBT youth who died by suicide between 1993-2011 due to bullying and harassment. It provides details about each individual such as their name, year of birth and death, age at time of death, and manner of death. Statistics are also presented about increased rates of suicide attempts among LGBT youth and adults compared to heterosexual individuals. Several cases of violent hate crimes against LGBT people are also described.
The document discusses the 2016 US Presidential Election between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. It provides context about some of the issues discussed in videos and articles related to the election, including concerns that Trump's presidency could lead to increased discrimination, segregation, and terrorist attacks. It also notes that Clinton said "we build bridges not walls" in support of an open and united society rather than divisive isolation.
The document outlines a deceptive and unethical 7-step process to manipulate politicians into supporting policies they oppose:
1) Make them feel important to inflate their ego. 2) Make them feel protected to lower their guard. 3) Get them to compromise themselves, such as with illegal or embarrassing acts. 4) Document any compromising acts to gain leverage. 5) Leak rumors to create public suspicion. 6) Wait for them to try covering it up and document that. 7) Threaten exposure unless they comply with demands. The goal is to trade away freedoms in exchange for the manipulators' silence.

Hollywood Celebrities Saying Stupid Thingswhittumjd
The document criticizes and mocks statements made by several Hollywood celebrities about President Bush and his administration. It argues that the celebrities are out of touch and hypocritical, enjoying the benefits of living in America while criticizing its leaders. The document claims the celebrities' intellectual capacities are lacking compared to Bush's education. Overall, it portrays the celebrities as elitist and misguided in their political views.
Bill O'Reilly is the host of The O'Reilly Factor on Fox News, which is the most-watched cable news program. He has established himself as one of the top media personalities in the US through his TV and radio shows. However, O'Reilly's on-air persona and comments have also attracted significant criticism and accusations of racism, ignorance, and being toxic.
Barack Obama was accused of plagiarism by his rival Hillary Clinton during his 2008 presidential campaign. Obama was accused of using quotes from a 2006 speech by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick without giving him proper credit in a speech Obama gave in Wisconsin in February 2008. While Obama and Patrick had previously discussed Obama using some of the quotes, Clinton argued this constituted plagiarism. The incident received media attention and sparked debate about whether Obama's actions amounted to plagiarism or just sharing of ideas between politicians.
I put together this presentation for my local Meetup to show attendees the marketing lessons I gleaned from this past 2016 presidential election.
The good, the bad, and the ugly.
This is NOT about politics. It's about how the two main candidates (Trump and Clinton) SOLD their vision.
Or how they didn't. Or how one did better than the other and consequently moved more people in the battleground states to win.
I won't tell you here - look at the presentation and tell me what you think.
The document discusses various quotes and opinions about Bill O'Reilly from different sources on the internet. It includes both positive views calling him a necessary voice and award-winning journalist, as well as negative views labeling him as racist, creepy, descending into madness, mean-spirited, and a sexual harasser. The document also quotes some of O'Reilly's own statements about dealing with cancer and the White House press corps.
Donald Trump was the subject of ridicule during a 2011 Comedy Central celebrity roast, but went on to be elected U.S. president in 2016. His election has increased fear among marginalized groups like Muslims, refugees, transgender people, and pro-choice advocates. While Trump seemed an unlikely candidate due to boisterous comments, some voters were frustrated with political dynasties and wanted a shift away from neoliberal policies toward domestic values. However, others believe Trump lacks qualities of a good leader and will not make America great again.
The document discusses speculation that former President Bill Clinton may criticize President Obama in his speech nominating Obama at the 2012 Democratic National Convention, due to reported tensions between the two. However, the source promoting this theory, Ed Klein, is called unreliable and lacking credibility due to prior false stories about President Obama and Hillary Clinton. While Clinton and Obama may have political differences, the speech is unlikely to include "not-so-flattering remarks" about Obama due to Clinton's role and the importance of party unity.
This document discusses racism against Muslims in the United States. It argues that Americans are more afraid of Muslims like Osama Bin Laden than white male criminals, due to skepticism and racism increased after 9/11. However, statistics show that most acts of domestic terrorism and mass killings are committed by white males. The author claims that white privilege allows white people to avoid stigma and scrutiny faced by Muslims after acts of violence by Muslims.
This document provides instructions for an activity to help students identify assumptions and spot when candidates say different things to different groups. Students are split into groups and given quotes to attribute to either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton. The quotes are then revealed to see if the students correctly identified the speaker. The goals are to help students think critically about assumptions, challenge their own assumptions, and understand how candidates may say different things to different audiences.
From a field of 16 Republicans, Donald has come out on top. And from a field of 5 Democrats, Hillary has risen to the front of the pack. Their presentation and public speaking styles, a stark contrast. Many of their political views, too. But the power of an engaging and accessible speech remains the same across both parties and both potential 2016 presidential candidates.
The document is a satirical news article that summarizes several stories in a humorous and exaggerated way:
1) The former head of the NAACP in Spokane, Washington was revealed to be white, halving the city's African American population.
2) A man who killed nine people in a South Carolina church shooting is compared to the deranged boy on a paint can who wants to "paint America white."
3) Walmart has stopped selling Confederate flag merchandise, likened to a Supreme Court decision, while a South Carolina cop was stripped searched for wearing Confederate flag underwear.
The document summarizes the Scottsboro Trials of the 1930s in which nine African American teenagers were falsely accused of raping two white women on a train in Alabama. The teens were arrested, charged, and faced an unfair trial in front of an all-white jury, who sentenced all nine to death despite evidence that the rape accusation was fabricated. Over several retrials the boys faced the same outcome, though one of the accusing women eventually admitted the charges were false, yet the boys were still found guilty due to the prejudices of the time.
This summary provides the key points from the document in 3 sentences:
The document discusses the roots of riots and violence in marginalized communities through analyzing Martin Luther King Jr.'s writings on riots, a news article on police brutality in Baltimore, and themes in Richard Wright's novel Native Son. It argues that slow oppression, poverty, and police brutality build pressure over time that can lead to explosive outbursts of violence and riots. While riots are condemned, the document examines the social conditions and injustices that provoke such responses from disenfranchised groups that feel they have no other means of being heard.
The document discusses the target audience for a gritty British crime thriller film about police brutality and racial profiling set in London. The target audience is males aged 15-24, as crime thrillers predominantly appeal to this demographic. This age group enjoys fast-paced, action-packed, and sometimes gruesome films. The film will feature a male lead character engaging in dangerous situations, which males in the target age range can identify with. Additionally, the document provides mood boards showing interests of the target audience and describes their psychographic traits as "Strivers" or "Makers."

The document summarizes the author's opinions on several films they have watched that deal with themes of morality. Some of the films discussed include The Great British Train Robbery, Britain's Biggest Heists: Millennium Dome Diamond Heist, Election, Gone Baby Gone, Shawshank Redemption, Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Paths of Glory, Full Metal Jacket, American Beauty, The Reader, and Sophie's Choice. For many of the films set during World War 1 or 2, the author believes they are not truly about morality since people at that time had to follow the government's orders or risk death. The document also reflects on themes in the individual films like family values,
A fuel cell converts chemical energy from hydrogen and oxygen into electrical energy. It has an anode and cathode separated by an electrolyte coated with a catalyst. Hydrogen is pumped into the anode and oxygen into the cathode. The catalyst splits hydrogen molecules into protons and electrons at the anode. The protons pass through the electrolyte but electrons cannot, forcing them through an external circuit to power devices. The electrons and protons reunite with oxygen at the cathode to form water, with no waste produced.

The protons pass through the electrolyte but electrons cannot, forcing them through an external circuit to power devices. The document summarizes the key design considerations for hydrogen fuel cells. It describes how William Grove first demonstrated a fuel cell in 1839 by reversing the electrolysis of water into hydrogen and oxygen to generate a current. The basic operation of a hydrogen fuel cell involves hydrogen ions passing through a proton exchange membrane to the cathode where they combine with oxygen and electrons to form water, producing electricity. Connecting multiple fuel cells in series into a stack increases the overall voltage output, which is achieved through the use of bipolar plates that connect the anode of one cell to the cathode of the next. Proper gas flow and cooling design are also important considerations.
1. The minimum number of teeth on the pinion to avoid interference is 10 teeth. The corresponding number of teeth on the wheel is 30 teeth.
2. The length of path of contact and arc of contact are calculated based on the module, pressure angle, and number of teeth.
3. The number of pairs of teeth in contact, or contact ratio, is calculated as the ratio of the arc of contact to the circular pitch.
4. The maximum velocity of sliding is calculated using the velocity ratio, pinion rpm, pitch circle radii, and pressure angle.
