Natasha Wells completed a COSTEP internship with the Indian Health Service in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She is majoring in environmental health and is a member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. During her internship, she participated in rabies clinics, conducted food inspections at tribal restaurants and stores, assisted with epidemiological investigations and environmental health assessments, and developed tools and resources to track and reduce asthma triggers in Native communities. She encourages others to apply for a COSTEP internship to gain valuable experience in environmental health and public health issues impacting Native communities.
