NARRATIVE
MOMENTS
CHA CHA CHA
A narrative moment is story telling or an event that had taken
place. It doesn’t necessarily have to have someone
explaining what is happening. The scene in itself can explain
the story.
SCENE 1
The whole film is based around the
Guru. In the first Narrative moment
Angela is looking at a photo of the
Guru and she strokes the photo with
her thumb. This shows that she has
feelings for the Guru and is starting
to push Anton away, literally.
SCENE 2
The second scene involves Angela
and Anton having a tug of war with
her dress and it eventually gets
torn. This reminds them of a
memorable time in their marriage in
Bulgaria where they were doing the
‘Cha Cha Cha’. This shows that
there is still some affection for each
other.
SCENE 3
This is the last scene which
involves the Guru. When both
Angela and Anton are finished
dancing. Anton drops on the photo
of the Guru. A key moment in this
scene is that Anton puts the
photograph of the Guru in between
Angela and himself when they sit
on the bed. This is a representation
of the separation between them
because of the Guru.
