EZ-ON® Vest: A Cost Effective Alternative for Transportation of the Casted Child

been distributed to families saving
approximately $10,848 in ambulance fees
•Staff have expressed that they have more
time to focus on direct patient care instead
of researching discharge transportation
•Parents expressed that they are
comfortable with using the vests and
demonstrate appropriate use
Background/Purpose:
In accordance with the 2008 Massachusetts
Child Passenger Safety law, which requires all
children under the age of 8 years or 57 inches
to be properly fastened and secured by a child
passenger safety restraint, Children's Hospital
Boston began its initiative to ensure that all
patients are discharged from the hospital with
the correct child passenger restraint.
