Every year Nannytax survey the salaries of nannies across the UK. This report details the national divide between nannies in the North and nannies in the South, the desire for older, more experienced nannies across the country and the stagnation of wages for childcarers in London.
I was both the driving force behind the 2013 survey and the author of this report. I was responsible for the preparation of the actual survey as well as the compiling and comparing all the data that we received.
The document contains revenue assumptions and calculations for selling an English learning module to schools in different regions over 5 years. It assumes a 25% renewal discount, 10% market capture in year 1 growing 5% annually, and revenues increasing as more regions and schools adopt the program. Total projected revenue is over $5 million by year 5 as sales grow from $75,000 in year 1 to $1.8 million in year 5, with most coming from larger markets like the US, UK, and Canada.
The document summarizes Disney's product launch plans for October 2010, including garden gnomes, planter figurines, Mickey Mouse planters, Disney character figurines depicting scenes from films, and limited availability Halloween items. New products include gnomes, planters, and figurines based on Alice in Wonderland, 101 Dalmatians, and Dumbo characters celebrating anniversaries of the films. Products will be available in packaged multi-packs and individually starting in February and March 2011.

1) The document discusses the opportunity for technology to improve organizational efficiency and transition economies into a "smart and clean world."
2) It argues that aggregate efficiency has stalled at around 22% for 30 years due to limitations of the Second Industrial Revolution, but that digitizing transport, energy, and communication through technologies like blockchain can help manage resources and increase efficiency.
3) Technologies like precision agriculture, cloud computing, robotics, and autonomous vehicles may allow for "dematerialization" and do more with fewer physical resources through effects like reduced waste and need for transportation/logistics infrastructure.

Modelling Increase in Low Pay 18th May 2016NevinInstitute
This document summarizes a study that models the impact of increasing Ireland's minimum wage to a level equivalent to the low pay threshold by 2020. The study finds that increasing the minimum wage by 36.6% to €12.50 per hour would directly benefit around 20.5% of employees, increasing their average yearly wages by €3,345. It is estimated this change would increase the total wage bill but may also reduce employment levels to a small degree depending on economic conditions. The increase is projected to reduce wage inequality while boosting incomes and consumer spending.
The document summarizes the results of the 2019 Global Entrepreneurship Monitor for Scotland. It finds that total early-stage entrepreneurial activity in Scotland is 7.2%, lower than the UK rate, and driven more by nascent than established businesses. Males and those aged 25-34 are typically more entrepreneurial, while rates for females and those aged 45-54 are significantly lower in Scotland compared to the UK. Perception of opportunities is increasing but needs to further translate to entrepreneurial intention and activity.
The document summarizes findings from a survey of over 1,400 City workers about compensation trends in 2014 and expectations for 2015.
Some key findings from the survey include:
- The average base salary across the City rose 8% to £96,458, with median basic pay up 6% to £85,000, the first increase since 2011.
- 62% received an increase in pay, higher than previous years, while just under 3% received a decrease.
- Those who changed jobs saw their pay increase 17% on average, while those promoted received a 19% increase.
- Women's average basic salary was 84% of men's, though the gap narrowed from 78% last year.
This document discusses various methods of measuring living standards and economic well-being beyond GDP per capita. It notes inaccuracies in population estimates that impact GDP calculations and differences in regional disposable incomes within countries. While GDP per capita is traditionally used, economic well-being is multi-dimensional and alternative indicators like the Happy Planet Index or Genuine Progress Indicator may better capture quality of life. Non-market activities, environmental factors, and income inequality also influence well-being but are not reflected in GDP.

Our data – collected from local authority Family Information Services – makes it possible to monitor changes in childcare costs and supply from year to year.
All our reports are widely used by policymakers and academics in all parts of the UK and beyond.
The document is a salary survey conducted by TPP, a recruiter for the not-for-profit sector. It found that average HR salaries in the sector increased slightly in 2016, with the largest increases at the Director and Head of levels. Salaries varied depending on factors like location, gender, organization size and type. Flexible working hours and pension contributions were the most common and desired benefits. A higher salary and better work-life balance were the top motivators for seeking new roles.
The document discusses Britain's national living wage and debates the pros and cons. It provides a table showing the national minimum wage and living wage rates from 2010 to 2016. The pros listed are that it is good for families, businesses, makes Britain fairer and more equal and productive. The cons listed are that it will cost jobs in northern areas of Britain, is a bad way to tackle working poverty, and could destroy jobs.

This document summarizes research on lone parent incomes, work incentives, and recent policy changes in Ireland. It finds that reforms to the One-Parent Family Payment have resulted in small income losses for employed lone parents but neutral or small gains for non-earning parents. The changes also slightly weakened financial work incentives. Additionally, the analysis shows that childcare costs significantly impact lone parents' financial work incentives, but the Affordable Childcare Subsidy improves incentives by reducing costs. Future work is needed to examine the behavioral impacts of these policies on lone parent employment, education, and poverty outcomes over time.
This document discusses financial challenges and strategies for managing finances post-retirement. It identifies three main challenges: 1) inflation will cause expenses to double every 6 years, 2) taxes will be higher with fewer deductions, 3) discretionary spending tends to increase in retirement. To manage these, the strategies proposed are to 1) fix expenses and deposit only what is needed each month, 2) plan finances for 20+ years rather than just 12 months, and 3) select investments with the highest post-tax returns and less than 5-year lock-ins. The document provides tools to project expenses over 20 years and compare returns of different investment options.

The five year plan presented by Wind Group Consulting aims to achieve 500% overall growth for their client. They propose expanding their monthly donor program, growing their major and middle donor base through more personalized engagement, increasing the number and size of fundraising events, and benefiting from a growing legacy income. If successful, the plan would increase total annual income from $804,820 in 2002 to $2,549,356 in 2007 while controlling costs to yield a projected $1,997,231 profit in 2007.
1. The document analyzes factors that influence the supply of labour such as education, skills, and location. It discusses both short-run and long-run labour supply decisions.
2. In the long-run, individuals make choices about education, training opportunities, and location that impact their future earnings potential through human capital investments.
3. Studies show higher educational attainment is associated with higher earnings over a lifetime and lower unemployment rates. However, returns vary significantly between degree subjects. Degrees in economics, law and management tend to be most lucrative.
Over the last Parliament the cost of a part-time nursery place for a child under two has increased by 32.8 per cent. A family paying for this type of care now spends £1,533 more this year than they did in 2010, while wages have remained largely static.

"Does Foreign Direct Investment Negatively Affect Preservation of Culture in the Global South? Case Studies in Thailand and Cambodia."
Do elements of globalization, such as Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), negatively affect the ability of countries in the Global South to preserve their culture? This research aims to answer this question by employing a cross-sectional comparative case study analysis utilizing methods of difference. Thailand and Cambodia are compared as they are in the same region and have a similar culture. The metric of difference between Thailand and Cambodia is their ability to preserve their culture. This ability is operationalized by their respective attitudes towards FDI; Thailand imposes stringent regulations and limitations on FDI while Cambodia does not hesitate to accept most FDI and imposes fewer limitations. The evidence from this study suggests that FDI from globally influential countries with high gross domestic products (GDPs) (e.g. China, U.S.) challenges the ability of countries with lower GDPs (e.g. Cambodia) to protect their culture. Furthermore, the ability, or lack thereof, of the receiving countries to protect their culture is amplified by the existence and implementation of restrictive FDI policies imposed by their governments.
My study abroad in Bali, Indonesia, inspired this research topic as I noticed how globalization is changing the culture of its people. I learned their language and way of life which helped me understand the beauty and importance of cultural preservation. I believe we could all benefit from learning new perspectives as they could help us ideate solutions to contemporary issues and empathize with others.
