The 7th Annual Native American Indian Symposium and Poster Contest will be held on Wednesday, March 13th from 10am to 4pm at the University of Maryland. The event is designed to foster community between Native American students and the university. It will include a welcome lunch, round table presentations from Native American students in elementary through high school, and an art competition where visiting Native American students in grades K-12 will depict what Native American pride means to them through posters. Winners will be selected by University of Maryland judges.

This one-day symposium is designed to foster a spirit of com-
munity, collaboration, and family between the University of
Maryland family and visiting Native American Indian students, parents,
guardians, and community leaders.
Native American Indian Students attending elementary, middle, and
high school will get a chance to share and enhance their perspec-
tives about their Native American Indian heritage,
challenges and successes which will be discussed in an
open and friendly forum.
Visiting Native American Indian students K-12 will
participate in an Poster Contest by depicting “What
Native American Pride Means to Me”.
The best presentation and verbal artistic expression will
be selected by judges from the University of Maryland.
