1. The war that wasn´t
A legend of love, hate, humans, gods, mutants, powers, weaknesses and strengths.
Once upon a time, in an old little town from ancient Greece, there existed three civilizations
best-known as The Fair-minded, The Better-liars and The Sensitivers. As their names
indicated, the fair-minded were honest and respectable people, they used to be on the side
of justice and had been born to be leaders, that was why their protectors were Zeus and
Athena, gods of power and wisdom. The sensitivers were people who could be as happy as
no one else was but so fragile that even a little white lie told to them could hurt them a great
deal, so their gods, Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty, and Eros, the god of love, were in
charge for not allowing anybody hurt them. The last civilization, the better-liars, were the
ones who liked people’s suffering and did not care about the others. That was why the only
protector they had was Hades, the god of the underworld. They had the unbelievable ability
to lie, so they could play the role of a fair-minded as well as a sensitiver, without the others
noticing it.
Despite some differences, they all, gods and people, lived quietly and in complete harmony.
Until, one day, a new goddess was born. All the gods were in Mount Olympus to meet her.
Her name was Persephone the goddess of spring growth. She was beautiful, intelligent and
sometimes a little provocative.
The first time Hades saw her, he immediately fell in love with her, so Eros tried to shoot her
with one of his arrows but accidentally shot Zeus, who fell in love with Persephone too.
Hades was filled with rage when he found out what Eros had done but he was angrier at
Zeus, so he converted the Fair-minded into heartless horrible mutant created to destroy the
town. When Athena saw that, she tried to persuade the better-liars to help her turn this
situation backwards to the way it was by telling them that the new mutants would replace
them in Hades’ world. Then, they thought Athena's words through and decided to talk to
Hades, but they realized that he would never listen to them, so the only thing left was to
fight. They knew they were not strong enough to do that, therefore, they unwillingly joined
the sensitivers, made them less sensitive and finally asked their gods for help.
A huge war was about to begin, Hades and the mutants versus Zeus, the sensitivers and the
better-liars. But no one knew that Aphrodite had a plan. Before the war started, she used
her powers and made Persephone look ugly to everyone else but Hades, so Zeus was no
longer in love with her.
Finally, Eros shot an arrow to Persephone so she fell in love with Hades. Hades turned the
fair-minded into their original form. The better-liars learnt how to work in a team no matter
what the differences might be, the sensitivers understood that their power was inside them
and the fair-minded realized that even the worst situations can bring about something good.
Finally, the three civilizations become one called “Hope”.
