Writing a self-essay poses several challenges: striking a balance between self-expression and an engaging narrative for the reader; avoiding sounding boastful or modest; and selecting the most compelling life experiences. Additionally, achieving the right tone without coming across as self-pitying or arrogant, and facing one's vulnerabilities for others to read, requires courage and openness. Composing a self-essay is difficult and demands balancing self-awareness, storytelling skills, and understanding one's audience in order to present an authentic portrayal of oneself.
