An Overview of the New CLS Website and LMS Pages
MyLatin is a dynamic website. Unlike typical websites where information is posted on a static web page, MyLatin’s content is
aggregated to each personal MyDashboard.
Therefore, it is essential that (at a minimum) basic information and major dates are consistently posted in each teacher’s class
group space using the appropriate MyLatin tools (Calendar, Bulletins and Resource folders) so that this content is “pushed” to
each student’s MyDashboard.
As you use this guide, if you have questions, please contact me (phone or email), and I will be more than happy to assist you.

Class Overview
Post a class overview at the top of your page. This could be a
‘welcome to the class’ banner or an overview of the course (like at
the top of a course guide).
Consider leaving this up for an extended period of time.
Posting Daily Assignments (Homework)
Post daily assignments in Bulletins.
ALTERNATIVE: You may have a syllabus or reading
guide that is posted in Resources. Be sure students know
where to find details about daily assignments.
TIP: If you teach more than one section of a course,
bulletins can be ‘cloned’ so that you only need to
enter the information for the assignment once.
Posting Major Graded
Assignments/Events
All major announced graded assignments (i.e. tests, quizzes,
papers, projects, trips) should be posted on the Calendar.
NOTE: Even if these are listed on a syllabus (in
Resources), they should be listed as events on the class
Calendar.
TIP: If you teach more than one section of a course,
events can be ‘shared’ so that you only need to enter the
information for the event once.

Posting Handouts
Handouts and course files should be placed in Resources. Create
folders for the natural divisions in your course (i.e. units, major
works, months).
NOTE: All resource must be posted in a Resource Folder.
ALTERNATIVE: Create a folder for units in Resources
and choose ‘Link’ as the resource type. Paste a link to the
folder for that unit in Google Drive (if you use it).
