This document summarizes a study on the first pass effects of Oltipraz, a drug, in rats. The study measured the disappearance of Oltipraz in tissue homogenates, its biliary excretion after intravenous administration, and its hepatic and gastrointestinal first pass effects after intravenous, intraportal, intragastric, and intraduodenal administration. The results showed significant first pass effects of Oltipraz through the liver and gastrointestinal tract in rats, with an oral bioavailability of 41.2% after accounting for these first pass effects.
