A Costly Interruption: The Sermon On the Mount, pt. 2 - Blessed
My journey through faith
1. MY JOURNEY THROUGH FAITH.
By: Kasadee Elizabeth York
Inspired by: All the Youth Leaders from C-21
2. WHAT WAS GOING ON BEFORE I WAS
INTRODUCED TO JESUS
Before I was introduced to Jesus it was a
series of extremely emotional hardships. I
just couldn’t seem to find reasons to be
happy. Yet, I never stopped smiling around
others.
I was experiencing things
like death’s, heartbreaks,
being bullied at school and
struggling to find love and
support from others.
It was just a very hard time
in my life. In general, I was
thinking to much and it was
leading to suicidal thoughts.
3. MY FIRST ATTEMPT
The first time I ever tried to harm myself
was in Grade 5. It was the last day of
the school year and I was being bullied
after school in the playground. Kicked,
Stepped on, Spat on, Punched and
Yelled at. I still can’t even remember
why I was being bullied.
It was pretty intense and I was very
scared (being only 10 years old)
that I was never going to be able to
be happy.
I was really little at the time
so what I did was tied a
skipping rope to the monkey
bars and tied the other end
to my neck.
4. THOUGHTS GOING ON IN MY HEAD
“I have no life, It’s pointless to keep trying to
please others. I should give up”
“Death would be
“People are right easier then living
about me. I am a this life”
worthless piece of
crap”
“ I don’t deserve to be alive.”
5. TRYING TO TURN MY LIFE AROUND
Life was hard but, everyone
experiences the same stuff I did
right?? WRONG !! I shouldn’t have
been treated that way. So, I finally
decided to do something about it.
I did the wrong thing though.
What I did made my life
even worse causing my
parents to ground me for
over a month taking me
away from the one place that
made me smile.
WORD OF ADVICE: “Don’t pull knives
on people, it will not end well.”
6. THE ONE PLACE THAT MADE ME SMILE
C-21. It’s literally the most
amazing thing that EVER
happened in my life.
When I first started going to this
AMAZING youth group, I knew
not one person. Now, I am great
friends with a bunch of the
My thoughts were starting to leaders and think of them as

enough. I was still really
depressed because of other
things going on in my life.
But, I still managed to fake
a smile at C-21.
7. CERTAIN PEOPLE THAT HELPED ME
There was certainly a lot of people
that were trying to help me but, I
remember this certain couple that
was always there for me every
second I needed them.
All the leaders from C-21
were very helpful and
Renita and James supportive. But, I was still
Parlee upset.
8. ASKING FOR A BIBLE
I was really upset but,
Something was telling me to
try harder so, I got up the
guts to ask my youth leaders
for a bible. MAN !! I sure am
glad I did.
I started reading it more and
more every time I got
depressed and it seemed to
be working. Maybe not the
way I wanted. But, It was still
making me feel a little bit
better.
This is when I realized that
Someone always love me.
9. FINDING GOD
It wasn’t easy but I eventually started
hearing someone talking to me. I was
scared at first but, The voice kept re
assuring me not to be afraid.
I started to realize that Jesus was
always there for me. Even if I
couldn’t hear or see Him. He was
still always right beside me.
Then came the thoughts of “ He
can’t be real, It’s to far off. It won’t
change anything”. Wow ! Boy was
I wrong. It made all the difference
in the world.
10. BULLIES
Even though I had Jesus with
me. The bullies didn’t stop
teasing me. In grade 8, Last
year. I was so scared to even
walk into my school because of
bullies. I tried to talk to people
about it but nobody seemed to
care.
God helped me in learning how to
Even now, I’m in Grade 9 cope with being made fun of and
and still nothing has beat up. He always told me “ You
changed about being are better then them, I promsie
bullied. I try not to let in you. It will stop”. But, It didn’t.
get to me as much
anymore. But, It still hurts
a lot.
11. GOING TO CHURCH
My youth leaders, Being so nice. Agreed
to take me to church on Sundays when I
asked them one day. It was the thought of
belonging to something that made me
want to continue to go.
Now that I am used to being apart of
something. I was able to stand up to the
bullies. It wasn’t easy but, I didn’t go
through it alone. I had Jesus every step of
the way.
Church is the one day of the
week that I look forward to.
Not because of the people I
was going with but, Because
of the way it changes my
thinking.
12. BEING THANKFUL
Now, Looking back to the
way it used to be in Grade
