Rachel Roberge introduces herself as a high school science teacher from Rhode Island who has taught for 5 years at Scituate High School. She is currently taking her fourth course in a master's program with the goal of promoting literacy in content areas to other teachers. In her personal life, she enjoys spending time with her husband, horse, and cats on their farm, and is expecting her first child in September.

and have lived in North
Smithfield for the past
three years with my
husband on our five
acres.

• I teach in Scituate,
Rhode Island.
• I teach 9th grade
physical science and
10th grade biology at
the high school.
• I have taught at the high
school for 5 years.

4. Where I am in the program…
• This is my fourth course of the program.
• My goal is to use the knowledge I gain during
the program to bring information about the
importance of literacy in the content area to
teachers in my school.
