SitePro, Supervisor Ulises Pereida
Faculty, Dr. Martinez
Next Steps/Conclusion
Special thanks to the 80/20 Foundation
for their financial support in making this
internship possible.
1. Develop an understanding of the oil
industry as a whole and how SitePro fits
within it.
2. Learn the agile development process.
3. Learn how to effectively collaborate with
coworkers to develop software.
Learning Objectives
I learned from this experience that I
enjoy coming up with the ideas as
equally as implementing them. So I will
pursue opportunities to explore product
design in future internships.
Work Performed
● Coordinated with backend developer to implement
database sync feature on iOS. Enabled mobile
users to download new equipment without having to
download old equipment for an overall faster
experience.
● Implemented new Facility Summary design on the
iOS App (see below).
● Implemented Site Data page on Android App.
● Documented existing code which enables the
company to scale quicker.
● Designed company T-Shirts.
Lessons Learned
● When developing software it helps to
know how it will be used in the real
world.
● Communicate in the fashion that the
receiver will understand.
● Do not make assumptions, rather ask
questions.
SitePro
SitePro® is a digital oilfield solutions
provider focused on developing
real-time, cloud-based software solutions
to optimize the full life-cycle of fluid
management operations.
San Antonio Engagement
Visited San Antonio’s hidden Silicon Valley. Geekdom
is a collaborative space that connects ideas with the
means to achieve them. At Geekdom one can find
expertise in anything from marketing to software. I
learned through Geekdom that San Antonio is a city
that fosters creativity and entrepreneurship.
Drilling for oil produces a significant amount of
polluted water. This excess water is typically
shipped to saltwater disposal sites (SWDs). These
SWDs make up most of SitePro’s customer base.
SitePro primarily serves SWDs by providing a
range of automation products, from surveillance to
remote-controlled actuators.
