Stepan Akmulin began practicing Kyokushin karate in 1990 in Ufa, Russia. In 1991, he founded his own karate club called "Kyokushin" which he continues to coach. Over the past 20 years, his club has trained over 2,500 students and produced 29 candidates for Master of Sports of Russia, many of whom have won championships at the municipal, district, provincial, national, and international levels. Stepan Akmulin himself has reached the level of 2nd dan black belt and been recognized by the state for his excellence in sports coaching.
