Script for Music video production

1. Bronte Delasalle – Media A-Level Music video script (Initial Ideas)
"Two of Us" (Lyrics: Red, Direction: Black)
Sequence 1. Interior. Black out photo room
An all black room decorated with dim fairy lights going across with printed photos of a
couple. There is a man (Howard) standing in the middle of the room staring directly into
the camera with tired/drowned out expression. He is standing amongst the strings of
fairy lights. The camera shot pans outwards.
(Short introduction)

Sequence 2. Exterior. Cobbled street, London, Daytime
The main singer in the video is walking down a cobbled street in London. The camera is
following him from the side as he sings the first two lines.
The singer is dressed in casual clothing – denim jacket, jeans etc.
(His clothing shows how grief can happen to everyone.)
It's been a minute since I called you
Just to hear the answerphone
Yeah, I know that you won't get this
But I'll leave a message so I'm not alone

Sequence 3. Exterior. Castle ruins/field, evening
We now see the dancer/wife. She is dressed all in white representing her being an
angel.
On the three beats + the beats throughout, her movement is representing pain/the pain
of losing someone you love. These movements lead into the next line.
[There are three beats]
This morning I woke up still dreaming
With memories playing through my head
You'll never know how much I miss you

Sequence 4. Exterior. Multiple places (field, brick wall etc.), Night
On the line ‘With memories playing through my head’, we see clips of the main singer
and the dancer together, they are both dressed in casual clothing once again, it is clear
now that when the dancer is all in white, she is an angel
They are visibly in love and happy
One the line ‘You’ll never know how much I miss you’ There is a close up shot of the
couple looking into each other’s eyes.
There is beat after ‘the day that they took’ on this beat the girl disappears. The singer
has tears in his eyes once she has disappeared.

I wish it was me instead

We return to the camera following the singer down a cobbled street as he sings the
lyrics.

On the pause between the pre-chorus and chorus there is a shot of a necklace the singer
is wearing (the necklace becomes a symbol later in the video)

Sequence 7. Interior. Black room/performance studio
The chorus section flicks between two shots
Shot One: The dancer
She is dressed in all white representing an angel. The location is a field, preferably with
castle ruins to create a mystical tone.
I want to choreography to be elegant but also represent loss and grief.
The filming is done by drone shots, circling around the dancer
Shot Two: The performance
The singer is in a black room with a band performing the chorus
So I will keep you, day and night, here until the day I die
I'll be living one life for the But you once told me, "Don't give up
You can do it day by day"
And diamonds, they don't turn to dust or fade away two of us
I will be the best of me, always keep you next to me

I could feel your blood run through me
Close up shot of the older mans (the singer when he is older) face
The shot begins with him looking down and he looks up into the lens of the camera
You're written in my DNA
The man looks down at the necklace on his table Infront of him (camera shot of the
necklace next to a photo of the dancer and an empty bottle of alcohol – to show his
struggle without her).
Looking back in every mirror
He picks up the necklace and puts it on
The camera shot is from behind him, but you can see the front of his face in the mirror
I know you'll be waiting; I'll see you again
He stares at himself in the mirror, tears in his eyes

A series of short clips showing the couple together and happy, the clips shoot between
the couple and the singer by himself to show the difference in emotion when he is
without her.
So, I will keep you, day, and night, here until the day I die
I'll be living one life for the two of us
I will be the best of me, always keep you next to me
I'll be living one life for the two of us

Sequence 12. Interior. Black out photo room
An image of the old man walking around the lights and pictures room, reminiscing of all
the good time him and the dancer had when they were young, he is beginning to accept
her death.
On the line, ‘through everything I’ll ever do’ a tear falls from his cheek while he is
looking at a picture, but he is still smiling – showing his acceptance.
I promised you I'd do this
So all of this is all for you
Oh, I swear to God you're living
Through everything I'll ever do

The final image is a zoom out of the man and the singer standing beside each other
