Terrorists carried out coordinated attacks across Mumbai, India, targeting hotels, train stations and cafes. Over 80 people were killed and 200 injured after terrorists opened fire with automatic weapons and grenades. Senior Mumbai police officials were among those shot and killed by the terrorists. A previously unknown group called the "Deccan Mujahideen" claimed responsibility for the attacks.
