Mahendra Singh Dhoni is an Indian international cricketer who captained the Indian national team in limited overs formats from 2007 to 2017. Born in 1981 in Ranchi, India, the wicketkeeper-batsman stands at 1.75m tall and has had an impressive international career spanning over a decade and a half, during which he led India to World Cup victory in 2011. With over 10,000 runs in ODIs, Dhoni is among the highest run scorers for India in limited overs cricket and has received several awards for his performances, including the ICC ODI Player of the Year award in 2008 and 2009.
