Patterns with 8's facts   • All products are even.  • Skip count by 8  • 2,4, and 8's facts products double   • Pattern in the one's place for products of 8- 0, 8,6,4,2
Examples of Patterns with 8's Facts   • Skip Count- 0,8,16,24,32...  • Products are even- 8,16,24...  • Patterns in ones place- 0,8,16(6),24(4),32(2)  • 2,4 and 8's facts double 2X2 is 4. 4x 2 is 8. 8x 2 is 16.
Word Problems with 8   • Mrs. Smith has 32 cookies. She shares with 8 students.  • 32 divided by 8. Draw 8 groups and share the cookies out evenly.   • Your answer is 4.  • The problem tells you the total so you know to divide.
Word Problems with 8   • There are 6 packs of markers. Each pack has 8 markers.   • 6 X 8- Draw 6 packs with 8 markers in each.  • Your total is 48.  • The problem tells you the number of groups and how many in each group this   • means that you need to multiply.
