Mrs Gren refers to the six essential functions for living things: Movement, Respiration, Sensitivity, Growth, Reproduction, and Excretion. Movement allows organisms to change location using muscles, bones and joints. Respiration is the intake of oxygen and release of carbon dioxide through breathing or diffusion. Sensitivity allows organisms to detect and respond to changes in their environment through senses like sight, smell, touch, taste, and hearing.

This presentation is about a biology topic. It talks about the skeletal and nervous system. It tasks about their structures and different parts involved in the structure. It is a really informative presentation.

This presentation shows the amount of waste being produced is causing the environment to be weak and that the green house affect is causing global warming. Which will mean that most animals living in north and south pole e.g polar bears are going to be affected as snow is be melting. extinction

3. Movement
● Some bones in the skeleton are joined rigidly together and cannot move against each other. Bones in
the skull are joined like this. Other bones are joined to each other by flexible joints. Muscles are
needed to move bones attached by joints.
● Different types of joint allow different types of movement. Hinge joints allow simple movement, the
same as a door opening and closing. Knee and elbow joints are hinge joints. Ball and socket joints
allow movement in more directions. Hip and shoulder joints are ball and socket joints.
● Movement: All living things move, even plants.
4. Respiration
●
Respiration is the process of breathing in and out.
The difference is
that aerobic
respiration uses
oxygen to remove
energy from cells
and anaerobic
respiration only
uses glucose.
They are two types
of respiration
anaerobic and
aerobic respiration.
5. Sensitivity
Sensitivity is the
capacity to
respond to the
changes of the
environment.
● Five sense organs
● skin: touch, pressure, pain and temperature
● Tongue: chemicals in food
● Nose: chemicals in the air
● Eyes: light
● Ears: sound and position of the head
