Mr Whittles
Mr Whittles is a telepresence robot that is an iPad mounted on an electric scooter. It allows house-bound residents of aged care facilities to remotely participate in events and excursions streamed live to a TV or iPad without leaving their facility. The robot provides social connection and brain stimulation for residents while giving them access to library collections and community events. It is directed using an iPad or smart TV. The population of Whittlesea Township is expected to grow 47% to over 7,000 people by 2036, with the largest increase in residents aged 70-84.

What is aTelepresence Robot? • iPad mounted on a Segway-style electric scooter • Used for two-way conversations and remotely commanded by residents from local Aged Care facilities • Footage from events streamed live back to the Aged Care facility which residents watch on a big screen TV, laptop or iPad • Conduct interactive excursions without leaving the aged care facility directed with an iPad or Smart TV Android?
