Client Profile:
Boots UK Limited(formerly Boots the Chemist), trading as Boots, is
a pharmacy chain in the United Kingdom and Ireland, with outlets in most high streets,
shopping centers and airport terminals. It sells many health and beauty products, and
also provides optician and hearing care services within stores and as standalone
practices. Boots also operates a retail website and runs a loyalty card program branded
as the Boots Advantage Card.
Project Title : Messaging Integration Center

Role : Sr. WMQ System Analyst
Duration : 16 months
Contribution:
As a team member, I was responsible for:
 Resolving incident tickets based on SLA, like channel break down and listener
break down.
 Offloading inactive logs from QMGR active directory.
 Fixing trigger event failures.
 Performing restart procedure on ESB applications to make queues empty.
 Applying APARS on WMQ on distributed platforms at scheduled outage time.
 Created Brokers, Execution Groups and Deploy bar files to Brokers
 Creating, Modifying MQ object definitions using MQSC commands.
 Enabling OAM templates on MQ objects using “SETMQAUT”.
 Reply dead letter queue using MQ Dead Letter Handler.
 Taking QMGR definitions backup using support pack “MS03”& “dmpmqcfg”
command.
 Saving queues using “Qload/Unload” Utility.
 Performing systems health checks procedure.
 Configuring client and server machines with necessary components.
 Configuring new DQM setups with necessary components for test environment.
 Configuring Cluster components on QMGRS to make them part of the cluster
network.
 Preparing network diagrams as per requirement.
 Performing installation kind of tasks on test environment.
 Recreating damaged objects on MQ server.

Contribution:
 Day to day administration and maintenance of the WebSphere MQ (including
queue managers and all inter connecting channels in our servers).
 Implemented distributed queuing client/server architectures and configured MQ.
 Configured MQ Series queue managers, clusters and queue manager objects,
queues, channels etc.
 Monitoring the Queue Manager Logs for unresolved messages stuck in the
queues.
 Monitoring of the queues, channels which needs to be up24x7 for business
critical applications and supporting clients.
 Adding and Removing of queue manager to the cluster network.
 Monitoring and maintenance of queue managers, queues, channels and listeners.
 Used MQSC Commands to perform administration tasks.
 Active participant in monitoring the middleware and Perform daily on call tasks
(checking error logs, Fail over queues, System Logs, Backed out messages) to
maintain a healthy system.
 Handling and Trouble shoot of undelivered messages by working with dead letter
queues
