This song describes a dysfunctional relationship between a mother and daughter. The mother is verbally and physically abusive when she drinks, blaming her daughter for ruining her life. As the daughter grows up, she realizes her mother's mistreatment and lack of care. Now as an adult, the daughter has distanced herself from her mother and found love in her own daughter instead, breaking the cycle of abuse.
