1. Gandalf is shot from a low angle

a very dominant character and that
he will have great power over the
characters and the way story is told.
This shot shows the very rural
farmlike nature of the shire. Around
Bilbo can be seen many other
Hobbits performing farm labour,
which suggests that the film will start
on a positive and peaceful mood.
This last image is darker in mood
compared to the previous one.
Gandalf is pictured in a dark

backdrop of dark rainclouds which
suggests that the mood will turn
progressively darker.
