NME Total Average Net Circulation Per Issue : 40,948 From: www.abc.org.uk I think this cover of “NME” is interesting, some of the NME covers usually seem dark for rock/indie fans and although the artist on this issue is an Indie artist the house style makes this person and issue seem light and happy. The cover is kept to the same house style with a purple background from the image of “Pete Doherty” this then allows the rest of the magazine to have a feminine feeling using Pink for other Coverlines, Pull Quotes and Heading. The other font cover is White which really stands out from the purple background. I think this magazine is set out to teenage music fans by the artists advertised on this cover and the image of the main artist. There is a competition advertised on this cover for festivals which are usually aimed for teenagers 18+.
3. Q Magazine I like this particular issue of “Q” by the way the front cover is set out in a simple yet interesting style. The cover is kept to the same constant house style with a simple light Grey background which makes the black and white text stand out. They stick to four font colours Black, White, Blue and Red. The red on this issue stands out due to the masthead logo of Q. I think this magazine is set to music fans within there mid-20’s, I feel this by the type of picture of the artist “Lily Allen” and the simple and professional setting. 4. Kerrang! Total Average Net Circulation Per Issue : 43,253 From: www.abc.org.uk I think this cover of “NME” quite dark and shows its for a Teenage/Young adult audience who are fans of modern rock. The house style is constant with this issue from the main image of “Biffy Clyro” to the text used on this issue. The image of the band is two members in black behind a black background while the front man is wearing a white hoodie which makes him stand out, the bands name in a white font with a black stroke around the text with a shadow which allows the name to stand out more than the image. Below the main image are the coverlines with images of other main artists in this issue, they use red for the background to allow the white text to stand out from the images.
5. Mixmag Total Average Net Circulation Per Issue : 30,159 From: www.abc.org.uk Mixmag is set out for an audience of 18+ who has an interest in dance/rave music. The main image of two artists in what seems a summer/sunny outdoor setting, this issue doesn’t come across as a serious by the looks on the two artists faces. The house style uses florescent colours but stick to the same colour of Yellow, Pink and White. Which makes the magazine stand out as a fun disco type magazine which dance music is seen as.
