3. Batteryless Radio System for Hospital Application| September 2014
– July 2015
Team Members: Mohamed Khouya, Obaidallah Elhassan,
Abdoulrachid Gouled, Fuad Saleh, Dr. Riad Kanan (Mentor)
In hospital rooms, attached to a patient’s bed is a button, while hitting it, a
signal reaches the nurse indicating that patient needs help. This system is
wired in most cases while wireless system is affordable too. In our case,
our system is wireless and battery less. Wireless is for mobility, and battery
less is for energy saving. Therefore, it is low-cost and maintenance-free.
Here where energy harvesting comes. A wireless electric switch that has
no active power source, not a battery nor solar sell. This Transmitter
consists of a generator that converts a piezoelectric energy into electrical
energy. It generates an enough power in order to transmit wireless signals
to receiver and then indicates a reception of signal in a display with audible
alarm telling that patient need help.
Controlling Light Intensity Inside a Room using Closed Loop Control
in LabVIEW (PID)| June 2014
Team Member: Mohamed Khouya, Fuad Saleh, Abdoulrachid
Gouled, Muath Amin
In this project we are tasked to use the LabVIEW and Arduino in order to
build a system that will sense the light intensity of for example; the room,
and according to it the system will control the light and change its
intensity until the total intensity of the light is equal to predetermined value
set by the user. Here we are going to use the concept of (PID) in order to
build our system. Through LabVIEW we will use a block diagram that
represents our system and by connecting it to the Arduino we can build a
simple circuit that will contain a LED that will show us the output of the
system.
Indoor and Outdoor Low-Cost and Low-Power Positioning System|
January 2014 - May 2014
Team Member: Mohamed Khouya, Fuad Saleh, Mehdi Ismail, Dr.
Riad Kanan (Mentor)
The main objective of this project is to design an easy to use
indoor/outdoor detection and identification system without the need for
extraneous infrastructure (WiFi, GPS, etc.). A small low-power electronic
device in a watch form will be designed. The device will be connected to
a smartphone to keep track of the kids during a visit to an attraction park
or a mall. The system will allow the parents to easily setup the maximum
distance that will trig a warning and whenever their kids run off, they will
receive an alert on their smartphone.
Smart Fan System| February 2013 - June 2013
Team Member: Mohamed Khouya, Fuad Saleh, Abdoulrachid
Gouled, Mohammed Al Durra
Embedded System Project, a microcontroller project where we can
operate the fan automatically and manually with the help of pwm and
temperature sensor. This Project is related to Microprocessors and
Firmware Programming course (CEN 305).
Sound Processing using MATLAB| December 2013
Team Member: Mohamed Khouya, Abdoulrachid Gouled
We are required to write a MATLAB function that will take an audio file
with a recited verse from the Holy Quran and determine the Sura and the
time the verse appears in that Sura.
