O Follow Me
Carrying and pushing heavy objects has proved to cause pain and sometimes severe damage in shoulders,
back, and body joints. We build a device to help individuals move their belongings without having to carry
them. The device has a basket to carry the user’s belongings and will follow the person autonomously while
in shopping malls or airports. An RFID reader is placed on the device to detect an RFID tag carried by the
user. A microcontroller, reads the user’s distance and direction information, and instructs the device to
follow the user as he moves forward, left or right, and stops when the user does. This device can be helpful
to healthy people as well as to elderly people, people with disabilities and people with back and joints pain.
