1. Aging of the U.S population
As everyone sees, the U.S. population will increase by the millions in the near decades. With
great expansion in the aging bracket comes new challanges; economically, environmentally, and
socially. The biggest concern in the U.S. population would be the elderly and how their numbers
will grow by 2050. One business idea that could be developed and thrive around that aging
bracket is an in-home care business or mobile treatment business that can respond to the
elderly quick and promptly. My business plan for the In-Home care would be based off of caring
for the elderly that are disabled and need assistance with everything in their daily life. The in-
home care business would be set up on a partnership with different medical providers that can
prescribe medicine and do all of the things that are available in a regular doctors office. This is a
good idea because with the growing number of adults that have trouble doing anything on their
own they will have assistance in the comfort of their own home and not have to worry about
any extra services because my providers will be coming to them. Another small business that I
thought of was the mobile treatment for the elderly that are able to get around on their own
but it is not always their first choice. The mobile treatment idea will basically be a mobile clinic
on wheels that can perform all of the regular duties that a hospital can without the recipient
having to go very far. As time goes on with these two individual businesses they could possibly
go into joint ventures with specific nursing homes, hospitals, medical providers and even
pharmacies to expand the amount of people that they will serve. With a joint venture they could
gain new clients and be directed to people that need these services without having to find the
people all alone. These two ideas will help me to become a social entrepreneur because I know
that this is an everyday problem for the elderly population and I could help a lot of people out
by creating these businesses.
