1) College provides more freedom and choices for students to pursue their interests, but also requires more responsibility from students to request accommodations and support services. 2) In high school, schools are required to identify students who need special education support. In college, students must self-identify and provide documentation of their disability to receive accommodations under the ADA and Rehabilitation Act. 3) To be successful in college, students must advocate for their needs, know their rights and responsibilities to access support, make good decisions, set goals, and understand their own strengths and weaknesses.
