This document discusses the importance of sustaining Hindu (Sanatan) Dharma through Hindu community centers (mandirs) in North America. It notes that while over 500 mandirs have been established since 1965 to establish Hindu Dharma and engage communities through rituals and festivals, more work needs to be done to address issues like the lack of a clear Hindu identity among the two million strong Hindu-American population and disengagement of the second generation. The Hindu Mandir Executives' Conference aims to have mandir executives strategize solutions through leadership, programs and networking to nourish Hindu Dharma and meet the needs of both the community and broader American society going forward.
