This lesson plan is for a 5th grade mathematics class on perimeter and area. The students will review the concepts of area and perimeter. They will learn the formulas for calculating area and perimeter. To demonstrate that the same perimeter can have different areas and vice versa, the teacher will tell a story about a king. As homework, students will draw shapes with the same perimeter but different areas. The lesson will use a PPT, rectangles of different shapes, and graph paper. Students will learn through practice problems and applying the concepts hands-on.
