MOBIWORK
The integrated solution for transport
planning and monitoring
MOBIWORK is a hardware and software platform for transports optimization; if offers solutions both for vehicular monitoring and trips
strategic planning.
Monitoring and control of vehicles and performed routes
MOBIWORK control and monitoring system allows the real-time supervision of times and means positions (thereby even information
about goods).
Such operation involves the installation of devices on board of vehicles in order to:
- First of all, verify that planned trips
are really performed.
- Download on-board logs with data
about position and current status
of sensors (anti-theft, acceleration
meter, temperature...)
- A proper web server application,
installed in the customer’s control
station, permits to:
Display current position and
condition of one or more
vehicles
Ask to vehicles the on-board
logs download
Analyze downloaded data
and produce reports and
statistics in order to verify, in
particular, that what was
previously planned is
respected.
Planning, evaluation and reorganization of trips
The planning system offers several functionalities in order to answer, in the same time, to the following needs:
- Optimized planning of deliveries (and reclaims) for strategic monitoring of costs and improvement of quality levels of service;
definition of strategic reference projects for every day of the week and for particular periods of the year according to periodicity.
Planning, management, control of costs for the reorganization of network when customers are added or changed.
- Evaluation of consequences in relation to variations of delivery frequency, of a restriction or of the structure of vehicles fleet.
- Evaluation of the structure of vehicles fleet with reference to the
kind of vehicles in use (charge capability, type of vehicle, driver…)
- Identification and evaluation of the best
store to serve a customer. The algorithm
allows identifying of the best customer
assignment to the store, whereas the kind
of goods can satisfy the order’s request.
- Production of detailed reports to obtain
indicators of performances in terms of
vehicles use, costs and quality of service
provided.

2. MOBIWORK
Planning system
The system is based on INTERTOUR trips planning software.
INTERTOUR is an interactive system for the planning of distribution, it works in Windows environment, and it can be used as a mean for
both strategic and operational planning. The basis of planning process consists in customers orders, combined one another in order
to generate trips. Orders are imported from the external system (host) and trips are exported towards the host. INTERTOUR graphic
interface supports the planning process. User has the chance to modify the planning (manually or automatically) according to his own
needs. INTERTOUR offers two different modalities for planning:
- Free optimization
- Optimization based on trips derived by a previous planning or by company’s experience.
Monitoring and control system
The system is based on a series of software modules located in a central server by the customer, and on telematic devices installed on
board of means.
Communication among means of transport and central operative station can take place through different GSM and satellite
communication channels. In particular, supported channels are:
- GSM network(dial-up and
SMS),
- Satellite ORBCOMM network
- Satellite GLOBALSTAR
network (dial-up and packet),
MOBIWORK is based on GPS -
Global Positioning System.
MOBIWORK provides services for
fleet management and mobile
assets localization, bidirectional
Exchange of messages and
monitoring of on-board sensors
and alarms: crash, theft,
mechanical failure...
In particular MOBIWORK allows
the download, on demand or periodically, of on-board logs deriving from mobile devices installed on vehicles, making it possible to
rebuild routes performed and related events (status of sensors, type of stop, ignition on off, kilometres covered…).
On board system
It’s an electronic device of new generation equipped with a base electronics,
a GSM-GPRS module for data communication, a GPS module/processor for
positioning relative to latitude and longitude, and an electronic acceleration
sensor which is able to detect and rebuild crashes on the basis of
accelerations. Assembling is not intrusive in vehicle’s structure; in fact, there
are just three points of contact, fuel system, ignition panel and GSM and
GPS antenna. If necessary, the system will be supplied with voltage
converter from 24V to 12V.
Estensioni
MOBIWORK can be integrated with devices for automatic data collecting (orders, reports…)
like: PDA, mobile phones, bar code readers and ANOTO pen. This last one, in particular,
permits the electronic automatic acquisition of what compiled on paper. MOBIWORK uses
mobile phones BENEFON with GPS embedded for applications of localization and management
of mobile work teams.
