Mixed metal oxide (MMO) anodes are corrosion-resistant anodes used to prevent corrosion. They consist of iridium and tantalum oxides coated on a titanium substrate. MMO anodes are available in ribbon, mesh, and tubular forms and are lighter weight with higher durability than conventional anodes. They have a very low attrition rate and can have a design life of over 50 years. MMO anodes are used for protecting storage tanks, pipes, offshore structures, reinforced concrete, and more.
