1. TRANS-ACTION
TransAction is a sub-group of GLBTU dedicated to trans* issues.
Our mission is to ensure a safe trans-inclusive presence on campus through
activism, education, and support.
TransAction also provides a trans-centric safe space for our members to
have discussions and seek support.
Our goals for the upcoming academic year are:
1) Draft and implement a new, more inclusive gender neutral housing
policy.
This policy will include an option for incoming first-year students,
such as a designated queer safe space in the freshman dorms (Big
Haus, Crossroads, Farside).
2) Create and distribute art zines that will be useful guides to both trans-
identified people and SOFFAs. This will include a wide range of
things, from trans etiquette to a list of relevant local resources for
trans* individuals.
3) Increase trans* awareness and visibility on campus through events,
media, and advertising.
4) Ensure continued accessibility to trans-sensitive health care on
campus and spread awareness of off-campus geographically and
economically accessible alternatives for LGBTTQQI persons.
5) Work with the administration to implement a plan to get at least one
gender neutral bathroom in every academic building on campus.
