The National Achievers Congress celebrates its 21st anniversary in 2013. It was founded by Richard Tan of Success Resources to provide top quality education from world-class speakers, trainers, and coaches to people from all walks of life. Richard first envisioned the congress after his own business failed due to selling a defective floor cleaning product that damaged customers' floors. He ended up in massive debt from lawsuits and refunding customers. The congress strives to give opportunities to all by providing access to tools, information, and education usually only available to the privileged.

2. The National Achievers
Congress will be
celebrating our 21st year
in 2013 and what an
amazing journey it’s
been.

3. 21 years is a significant
to celebrate our coming
of age, a time to reflect
on the years that led us
to where we are today.

4. The CEO of Success Resources, Richard
Tan believes in building a platform to bring
the world’s best speakers, trainers and
coaches into contact with the average
person.

5. He believes that everyone – students,
entrepreneurs, CEOs, housewives, ex-
convicts, people from all walks of life, of all
income levels, living in bungalows or one-
room HDBs should have the same
opportunities.

6. They simply need to
do two things. Access
to the tools,
information, and
education that the
privileged in society
have, and apply those
resources to be
successful. And that’s
what the National
Achievers Congress
strives to do.

7. Richard first envisioned
the seminar after his first
attempt at
entrepreneurship failed
miserably.

8. He and his business
partners marketed and
sold a chemical product
to treat floors to prevent
people from slipping on
them when they were
wet.

9. While they were
successful in their
sales, selling about
$600,000 worth of the
product to Singapore,
Malaysia, Taiwan,
Thailand, and
Indonesia. They
encountered two
problems.

10. First, the chemical
didn’t prevent
slipping and second,
the chemical was
corrosive and
destroyed the floors
of their customers.

11. In the ensuing
lawsuits, Richard
ended up in massive
debt from refunding all
the money he had
made and repairing the
floors of his
customers.
