In the 1960s, Mercury developed the Marauder stock car to capitalize on the rising popularity of auto racing in the US. The Mercury Marauder went on to win numerous stock car titles and racing honors in 1963 alone. In 2003, Mercury revived the Marauder model based on the Grand Marquis, upgrading its performance features. Less than a year after winning racing awards, Mercury further improved the Marauder by installing a more powerful 410-horsepower engine, making it nearly unstoppable. The modern Mercury Marauder continues this muscle car legacy with a powerful 302-horsepower V8 engine that delivers a unique and enjoyable driving experience.
