Cloud computing offers new career opportunities for IT professionals by transferring existing skills to cloud technologies and requiring new skills to meet emerging cloud job roles. IT professionals should educate themselves on cloud opportunities to build capabilities ahead of companies transitioning to the cloud. The cloud environment requires both retaining existing skills like system configuration while developing new skills like managing cloud services and adjusting to managing IT infrastructure in the cloud rather than locally. Identity management will be an important skill in coming years as private and public cloud solutions are used together.

Sql Server 2014 Platform for Hybrid Cloud Technical Decision Maker White PaperDavid J Rosenthal
The document discusses options for running SQL Server in hybrid cloud environments, including both public and private clouds. In a public cloud, SQL Server can run in either Windows Azure Virtual Machines, which provides full feature parity with on-premises SQL Server, or Windows Azure SQL Database, which offers scalability to millions of users but less control over the operating system. A hybrid approach allows organizations to deploy applications across on-premises and cloud environments to realize the benefits of each.

Whitepaper: Choose the cloud platform that beats the competition - Citrix Clo...Citrix
Server virtualization introduced the concepts of automation and agility to servers and applications. Now, as enterprises seek to achieve ever-higher levels of business agility, IT efficiency and cost control, they are exploring private clouds as a way to extend those benefits to the entire datacenter. There are many private cloud platforms in the market today, yet most fail to address key cloud design requirements that are critical to success, notably compatibility, scalability and flexibility. When choosing a private cloud platform, enterprises should carefully consider these and other private cloud attributes.

At Agile IT, we've been leading the trend in moving customers to the Microsoft Cloud. Along that roadmap is the need to secure and manage the devices that will access that data. The Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) focuses on managing both the data that's accessible from the cloud as well as the devices that access it. In this webinar, we introduce you to EMS and focus on how cloud technologies work together to deliver a seamless solution for protecting your data.

The document proposes a concept called the Billion Node Cloud, which would incorporate existing server and cloud computing technologies on a massive scale. It envisions using low-power microservers installed in vehicles, buildings, and other locations to create a globally distributed cloud network. By taking advantage of unused computing resources everywhere, from idling vehicles to solar-powered huts, the Billion Node Cloud could generate billions of dollars per day in revenue while promoting environmentally friendly "super green computing". It argues this vision is technically feasible with current technologies and could have widespread economic and social benefits by distributing cloud revenues more broadly.
Local Media MicroServers are one application of a new breed of MicroServers. Powerful, compact and low-wattage, these new MicroServers support hundreds to thousands of users and are completely portable. How would you use them?
CriKit is a desktop cluster solution that provides a low-cost way for organizations to test Hadoop and other big data technologies. It contains 4 compute nodes, a 1Gb Ethernet switch, keyboard/video/mouse switch, and an optional management workstation. Each node has an Intel processor, 16GB RAM, and up to 1.2TB of SSD storage, providing enough power for moderate data testing of Hadoop. CriKit's small size and ability to reuse components makes it cheaper than large hardware solutions for evaluating new technologies.
The Era of MicroServers is upon us. MicroServers will radically change the computing landscape much like mini-computers did when they first came on the scene. People and organizations will be able to do more computing while consuming less energy in very small form factors. It is only up to the imagination what can be accomplished with these new systems.

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs
