Ever tried to manage GDPR assessments or projects with large spreadsheets and dozens of documents? Collaborated with various stakeholders and consolidated their inputs? Created macros and templates to boil down the results in management reports and dashboards? Sent them around every week just to find out they were outdated a few hours later? And don’t even ask for auditing – “Who decided this is not relevant about a year ago?” “How can we ensure we did not miss anything?” “What did we discuss regarding this article?” – Spreadsheets, really?
The Micro Focus GDPR Content Pack User Guide explains how ALM Octane and ALM/QC help you manage GDPR projects: They make it much easier to work with the GDPR: You can easily collaborate with stakeholders, search & filter for specific terms, use dashboards & analytics to measure and manage progress. They automatically createsaudit trails so you can validate and explain how you analyzed and implemented GDPR requirements in your organization. Both tools contain project management capabilities and many more very useful functionalities out of the box.

This is the official GDPR regulation, automatically imported into ALM Octane. You can use the tree on the left to browse through chapters, but you can also search for text etc.
The Content Pack helps ALM Octane users understand how the new Requirement Module works with a huge specification. So even if you are not (yet) interested in GDPR, you might want to import the data to experience the Requirement Module.
Select Columns is available in “grid-view”
The ID in your system will be different – the ID (here 18413) is set during the import
“pseudonymisation” is underlined in red since the browser language is set to American English (“pseudonymization”) – the English GDPR is written in UK English: ALM Octane uses the spell checker of the browser!
Children are requirements “below” this requirement
After you analyze “Data Processing Models” go back to this screen.
Links between requirements, features, tests etc. are extremely helpful if you work with complex regulations or specifications. “Why do we have that test? Does is relate to a specific requirement? And if there is a defect – what does it break?”
Some companies try this with Word or Excel – that’s labor intensive and error prone.
