This document discusses geotourism as a sustainable form of tourism. It provides 12 principles of geotourism that emphasize protecting a destination's geographical character, encouraging community involvement and benefit, and promoting conservation. Examples are given of places that have adopted geotourism strategies to increase tourism appeal and benefits while protecting natural and cultural assets. A geotourism strategy framework is outlined around identifying, developing and sustaining destinations based on their unique geographical character.
Mick Dodge offers Earthgym training sessions that use natural materials like sticks, stones, trees, and water to reconnect people to the land through simple movements and habits, with the goals of countering issues like sedentary lifestyles and promoting health. The sessions focus on remembering, recovering, and restoring one's natural connection to the environment through activities like walking, jumping, dancing, and crafting using natural materials. Participants are encouraged to shape shift their cultural story and relationship to different habitats through these movement-based land activities.
This document proposes the creation of a Sustainable Tourism Pilot Program in Nevada that would leverage existing efforts to protect Lake Tahoe and its watershed. The program would involve collaborative instruction from various institutions on sustainable habitat and land management. It would establish a dedicated team of "Nevada Travel Rangers" and create a roadmap to measure, monitor and sustain tourism impacts over time. The goal is to find ways to make political collaboration on sustainability a renewable resource for Nevada.

She also consulted on the TV show Legend of Mick Dodge and co-founded the Earthgym fitness practice. Earlier in her career, she held marketing roles and was owner of a leather apparel business.
The document discusses establishing a sustainable tourism program at a local university to help develop a long-term shared vision and stewardship roadmap for Lake Tahoe's tourism industry. It proposes having students co-create the 20-year roadmap in collaboration with tourism organizations and experts to address capacity, science, heritage, and sustainable models. The program would train students for new careers in destination stewardship and conservation while enabling them to actively shape the sustainable future of Lake Tahoe tourism.

The document introduces several individuals with unique skills related to forests, nature, and primitive living. Some of the individuals introduced include Huckleberry Leonard, an old hippie peace activist who listens to trees; Will of Stone, an Earthgym guide who partners with Mick on adventures; and Archer of the Forest, a master archer and tracker with primitive survival skills. The individuals have various roles such as teachers, guides, problem solvers, and protectors of the forest.
DRAFT of Proposed Geotourism Course based on Sustainable Tahoe's annual demonstration of sustainable tourism Tahoe Expo.
Geotourism Adventure Tracks become an active learning classroom where students build tangible fluency in the 12 geotourism principles, 4steps and TriNomic recipe for sustainable long-term prosperity (that includes water clarity)
What if destinations were sustained and enhanced by the people who visited them? Lake Tahoe, like many special places can no longer afford visitors who do not become stewards at some level. Geotourism inspires visitors with locally hosted activities, that deepen the touch while reducing degrading impact. Long term prosperity = preservation.
This document contains page numbers for the publication "RenoTahoeTonight" ranging from page 26 to page 4544 in an inconsistent order. The document provides page numbers but no other contextual information.
This document contains a series of numbers followed by the phrase "RenoTahoeTonight". The numbers increment by 200 each line from 5150 to 5958. The consistent phrase "RenoTahoeTonight" suggests this document is related to events happening in Reno and Lake Tahoe tonight.
For those following the Tahoe Expo Reports, here is the report from 2011. Notice how the goals from lessons learned were delivered in the following years? The key now is the fully adopt and covert all tourism to geotourism. The lines have already formed (thanks to the Bay Area, Europeans and other visitors who enter the basin with a stewardship heart), so lets' lead by example in hosting our precious water in ways that will sustain or enhance it for the future.
This is the PPT version of the booklet, explaining the value of Lake Tahoe hosting 8 interlinked GeoCenters that host visitors to geotourism adventures from wherever they are in the basin - ensuring Tahoe' brand associates with 4-seasons of stewardship activities that preserve lake clarity and long term prosperity. Happy and willing to present on how to achieve this. Jacquie 775 298-2333

The 2014 Tahoe Expo continues Sustainable Tahoe's legacy of demonstrating a 21st 4-season geotourism menu of adventures that enrich visitors connection, understanding and experience of Tahoe's "8 wonders" (sky, water, plant, land, wildlife, culture, heritage, local well being), while reducing the carbon-loading impact that compromises water clarity.
Lead by Jonathan Tourtellot, ED of NGCSD...Geotourism emerged in1997 as a way to ' educate locals on the value of local authentic assets, reduce poverty and preserve world heritage sites'. A signed Charter was a first step in demonstrating commitment from local leaders to embrace the 12 principles that would ensure the regions sustainable prosperity on all fronts.
(In 2006)...200 travel experts rated 115 of the worlds top destinations based on the 12 geotourism principles. While the list, the destinations and scores have most likely shifted since then, the information explaining the criteria and impact preservation has on a destinations long term profit, local well being and environmental stewardship is valuable.
Sustainable Tahoe is a non-profit organization that aims to accelerate sustainability adoption in the Lake Tahoe region through connecting, facilitating, and promoting stewardship models. Their flagship program is the Tahoe Geotourism Expo, a 2-day event demonstrating sustainable tourism practices to over 750 people annually. By collaborating with over 50 other organizations across the Tahoe/Truckee watershed, the Expo showcases "GeoTracks" that are educational, fun experiences with low environmental impact. Sustainable Tahoe also works to build relationships between stakeholders, provide educational resources on geotourism, and facilitate collaboration to shift the region towards a more sustainable tourism economy.
The Lake Tahoe watershed is the ancestral home of the Washoe people. Their 10,000 years stewardship is based on living in harmony with the land, water, wildlife and air we still share. August 30th, 2014, the Washoe will be sharing the past with the present to support the future - we all share.

The goal is for students in build geotourism adventures they would like to experience to deepen their own connection to the area while preserving it in the process. the GeoTrack template is guided by the 12 geotourism principles and the TriNomic model for collaboration that supports prosperity for all who support this type of visitor expereince.
In 2010, a Prosperity Plan defined the regions economic future through collaboration of all 6 counties, 2 states, federal agencies, City of South Lake Tahoe plus rural areas that make up the Tahoe Truckee watershed. They all agreed to work together in service to the WATER that connects us all and in that spirit create a holistic (eco-onomy) prosperity that would serve the economy, community and environment, by committing their support to 3 clusters: Environmental Innovation, Health and Wellness and Sustainable Tourism (geotourism). Sustainable Tahoe was included as a key player in the geotourism cluster.
Formed in 2009 to address the lack of collaboration around developing geotourism as economic model of stewardship.
We provide an annual showcase of a 4-season tourism menu to demonstrate how we have everything and everybody we need right now to build sustainable prosperity that includes 100 ft of water clarity!

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

Three seasons of “The Legend of Mick Dodge” has hit a nerve, as “Forest Gump heads for Middle Earth”. Fans 5 to 85 from all political , ethic and social groups are finding something to love, question or react to in this Nat Geo Reality Show.
Mick’s walk is to give out a calling from Master OG (Old Growth). He considers himself a “Habbit” learning from the Habitats of three terrains: the “Sitty” (urban lands), the “Open Fenced Land” and the “Gated Wild.
Identify the messages Mick stands for:
Follow your feet the earth will teach
Remember, Recover, Re-story
Primal Practical Passion
Grow Wood…Flow Water
Training with the Earth
Habbit of Wisdom
Sole Purpose
RUN (R/Are U/You N/In)
Mick Dodges’ walk, humor interaction with forest and earth-based fitness practice unfolds primal memory of our connection to natural habitat.
The human spirit is inseparable from the natural world.
Eco-theologian Thomas Berry, “A degraded habitat will produce degraded humans.” The concept of an “ecological unconscious” has emerged at the crossroads of science, philosophy and theology. This is the idea that all of nature is connected in ways that we do not fully understand.
Habit is formed in Habitat. Our planet has 3 habitats/terrains: “Sitty”(the urban terrain), Open Fenced Lands (just outside sitty) and the “Gated Wild” (our ‘wild lands’ are owned, gated and/or patrolled –there is no free land). When we do leave the Sitty/Urban habitat for a more open terrain…when we return, we bring something back with us that would benefit from a practice that keeps that earth wisdom alive and in balance with our urban activities – the middle ground
