13. How To Play Texas Hold’em
• Standard 52 card deck, every player gets 2 cards to start
(pocket cards).
• Round of betting occurs or players drop out (fold) before cards
are laid down (preflop betting).
• Dealer gets rid of a card (burn card) to prevent cheating then
places 3 cards (the flop) on the table.
• Players try to make a combination with their cards and the
cards on the table then place bets again or fold if they wish.
• Dealer gets rid of another burn card and lays down 1 card (the
turn).
• Players try to make a combination and place bets again or fold
if they wish.
• Dealer gets rid of another burn card and lays down the final
card (the river).
• Players make their final bets or fold (the showdown).
• If two or more players are in after the showdown then the
players reveal their cards to see who wins the money (the pot),
the best hand wins!
