This document summarizes the findings of a study on the socio-economic impact of over 300 cooperatives and mutuals in 26 countries. The study found that cooperatives and mutuals promote:
1) Economic, social, and political stability and regulation through their longevity, reserves, response to crises, and impact on labor markets.
2) Equitable access to goods and services by serving fundamental needs, offering unique and extended services, participating in intercooperation, and prioritizing community concerns.
3) Economic, social, and political diversity and inclusion by functioning as democratic organizations, promoting citizenship education and cultural identities, and supporting plural economies and innovation.
