(Opportunity, Threat) analysis is combinedly called swot analysis.
Strength (Internal Strategic Analysis)
BEXIMCO holds a stable and domineering position in the market since the
1980s. It has a great market share in Bangladesh Stock market. BEXIMCO
has their own health point to communicate directly with the local people.
5. BEXIMCO group has created job opportunities for 48,000 employees. They
have highly experienced and efficient employees. BEXIMCO offers many
attractive incentives to motivate their workers.
BEXIMCO maintain a standard quality of their products. Their products are
approved by Government of Bangladesh and other countries like Australia,
European Union, Gulf nations, Brazil, France, and Chile. Moreover, their
products are qualified by UNICEF.
Weakness (Internal Strategic Analysis)
BEXIMCO has to import almost one-third of their raw materials from
abroad which leads to the cut of the production. Not enough resources cause
a great drawback for them. Government policies are also another fact.
BEXIMCO group has multiple industries and companies. They
sometimes can’t focus properly on their Pharmaceuticals sector.
All the sectors don’tbring them the same profit. Some may
bring higher income and some may incur a loss. So, their
investment varies and mostly depends on their annual report
and strategies.
The company does not have sufficient working capital. It might hamper the
production sector.
Opportunities (External Strategic Analysis)
Enormous Growth – with an employee’s range of more than 2700, the
company is growing day by day which is capable of growing market as well.
6. Advantage as a globally certified company – it has been certified by
different countries as a reputed medicine manufacturer. It can use this
opportunity to enter other countries.
Building Stronger Brand – as it fulfills social responsibilities, there is a huge
possibility of getting more market share in future.
Threats (External Strategic Analysis)
The threat to environment – as it pollutes environmental elements, if the
Bangladeshi regulatory body takes any steps against it, that may create a
problem for its growing.
Huge competition – first level companies like Square Pharmaceuticals and
Incepta Pharmaceuticals are doing well, and gradually they are gaining more
market shares which are another barrier for Beximcopharmaceuticals.
New Entrants in the market – as the whole country is doing well in the
pharmaceutical sector, the number of newcomers are increasing more than
ever. This may result in declining market shares.

Training & Development
Training
Training is a learning experience. It seeks a relatively permanent change in an
individual that improves his/her ability to perform better on any job. A trainer
should follow some points to make training successful.
Making learning meaningful.
Making skills transfer easier.
Motivating the trainee.
Employee Training Method of Beximco Pharma
On-the-job Training
On-the-job training is such kind of training where the employees learn through
performing the job. Here, the trainee works under a manager who supervises
him/her. Beximco Pharma uses this training process.
It is relatively inexpensive and also trainees learn while producing. So the Beximco
Pharma uses this training process.
13. This process also has some drawbacks. It has low productivity. Because the
trainees sometimes are inexperienced and they may make some errors while
developing their skills.
On-the-job training process has some categories in it which are followed by
Beximco Pharma. They are discussed below:
Informal Learning: Beximco Pharma creates a learning environment in their
organization through which the trainees get trained.
Lectures: It is the most simple and quick way to provide knowledge to a large
group of trainees.
Simulated Training: It places the employees in an artificial environment that
closely mirrors actual working condition. Employees get to face it when they are
under training.
Off-the-job Training
Beximco Pharma also follows off-the-job training process. It is discussed below:
The Case Study Method: Here, the manager gives the employees some
organizational problem and the employees solve them in a discussion with others.
Outside Seminars: Beximco Pharma uses this popular method on various aspects
of business and management.
Types of Training
Types of training that Beximco Pharma uses:
14. Technical Training
Management Training
Safety Training
Occupational Health
Workers' Education Training etc.
Training Process
Identifying the training needs: Firstly Beximco Pharma identifies what kind of
training is needed. Then they find out how many employees need the training. The
organization determines what level of standard of performance is needed to fulfill
the objective of the training.
Analyzing the attributes, skills & knowledge of the job: Beximco Pharma
designs what has to be learned, who needs what kind of training etc.
Planning the training program & implementing: Beximco Pharma then plans
the training programs through some stages. Then it records the results and provides
the stuff and equipment that are needed.
Evaluating the results: Lastly, Beximco Pharma decides whether the training
objectives have been met or not. And then they consider how they could have been
met more effectively.
Employee Development Method
15. Job Rotation: Beximco Pharma uses job rotation process as a development
method. They move an employee from department to department to broaden
his/her understanding of all parts of the business and test their abilities.

Beximco Pharma uses this method too.
Action Learning: Beximco Pharma allows its trainees to work full-time analyzing
and solving problems in other departments too.
Information System
Any pharmaceutical company requires effective and efficient management
information systems that can support all kinds of managerial functions. It supports
to take all kinds of management decisions. It makes things flexible and formal.
Beximco Pharma views MIS as comprehensive and flexible. This company has
designed management information system consciously with specific organizational
goals.
Beximco Pharma's MIS has some components.
The internal environment.
Databases.
Applications and software.
16. Administrative supports.
Through these, this company runs its management information system.
Motivating Employees
Beximco Pharma uses Management by Objective. Its advantage is that everyone
becomes self-motivated. Everyone is motivated to achieve, to perform. The only
challenge is to keep the employees' moral high in times of failure. Managers are
always there for the employees.
The benefits are given below:
Education costs for the children for some certain level of employees
Permanent job facility
Leave facilities
Yearly employee awards
Promotions
Foreign travel with family
Shares of revenue etc.
Management issue
Of the 12 managerial skills, only 9 are present in the manager. The absence of a
certain skill is considered a weakness.
Energy- To make himself a role model he never gets frightened or seems tensed
about any problems. Others may mistake this quality as his lack of interest in his
job or for the organization.
17. Standards of performance- According to our opinion the manager takes way too
much pressure and responsibility. He gives extra effort and is too willing to keep
the organization moving. This may one day make him realize he is underpaid for
all the effort and this might kill his interest for his job.
Exerting pressure
When deadlines are near, pressure may need to be applied. The employees could
get a negative view of their work if the pressure includes actions which can
compromise their job security.
Listening for insights
As the HR manager handles way too many things at the same time he skips out
watching activities within the team.
Control of Details
Once evaluating an employee’s specific skill and assigning a suitable job for him,
the manager leaves that employee to his team to handle. This may cause a problem
for the team to evaluate as it was the leader who assigned the employee not the
team members.
Cooperation-Not all employees have the skill of cooperating. But as cooperation
is vital for the organizational well-being, all employees are forced to cooperate by
making it obligatory for them to attend meetings and share everything good or bad
about work to the managers.
