Pre-Columbian Civilizations  Veracruz and Tabasco were the first pre-Columbian civilizations in the Americas.  Aztecs represented the largest metropolis in Mesoamerica at that time. The Aztces had giant pyramids; Pyramid the of Cheps and Pyramid of the Sun.  The Mayans were the most advanced of the new world societies. They had a huge advantage and intelligence; they tracked stars, developed the zero as well as operated brain surgeries.
Emiliano Zapata  Zapata was  born Aug. 8, 1879, in Anenecuilco, Mexico and died on April 10, 1919  in the state of Morelos Mexico. "It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.” Zapata was a revolutionary rebel. He led a group of peasants during Mexico's revolutionary war. He later Joined Pancho Villa to fight against President Porfilio Diaz. Zapata mas murdered in a secret meeting, his body was buried in the State of Morelos.  CORRIDO “ Little star in the night that rides the sky like a witch where is our chief Zapata who was the scourge of the rich? Little flower of the fields and valleys of Morelos, if they ask for Zapata, say he's gone to try on halos. Little bubbling brook, what did that carnation say to you? It says our chief didn't die. that Zapata's on his way to you.”  Zapata will forever be a Mexican legend as well as A Chicano Legend.
